    Cycle Coach for my Wife

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Okay, I have invaded your site but I need your help. I want to get my wife a really good cycle coach for a present. My wife is already a good cyclist, but she wishes to get better and I don't really think she wants any advise from me! Imagine that!

Robin, my wife, has already completed many tri's including finishing Ironman France last year, so like I said, she cycles well.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    thanks

Do you want a remote coach (i.e. one you interact with on the phone or online only) or an on-bike coach to do a plan and also to do on-bike work with her? If it is the second, then we need to know where you live and someone local to you may be able to help. If it is the second, I am sure we can give you some suggestions.

    Cycle Coach for my Wife

I responded to this once but can not see if it was posted so I will try again.

I think to start, I would like to see Robin get some face and ride time with a coach. After that, follow ups on the phone or by e-mail would work fine. We live in Seattle but love to get out of town.

    thanks

I thought I asked that - or did you mean existentially?

That's weird - I didn't see the response originally either.

So you are looking for an on-bike coach in Seattle area - any suggestions anyone??

(You might try posting in the Northwest forum thread as well to get local input).

There is a good list of local coaches here http://www.wsbaracing.com/links

I can personally recommend my own coach www.realrehab.com
and Kristi Berg at Cycle U, though I don't know if either has any openings at the moment.

If you are looking specifically for a multi-sport coach the Seattle Triathlon Club's web site might be a good starting place. http://www.seatri.org/

Not that many coaches actually ride with their athletes (though if like me your coach is also your teammate you do ), but you wife also might want to check out the Intro to Women's Racing and Women's Racing Teams rides next month (I just posted about them here http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=33160 ) Even if she isn't interested in joining a team or road racing she's still more than welcome. She'll get to ride with seasoned riders and we teach road skills.
