    New to Cycling!

Well, I have been hanging around here reading all the different posts since about May and finally decided to register! The law firm where I work decided to have its first team ever in an MS Bike ride back in June, and I was talked being the captain and riding in the event but I didn't even have a bike. My DH has friends who ride and he started doing some research for me, and I ended up with a Cannondale Synapse Féminine 7 - Jet Black with pink and purple (see link - I did make a change and put purple handlebar tape on it instead of the black) http://www.cannondale.com/bikes/09/c...el-9RWA7T.html. My neighbor named my bike "Pur-Pee" hence my user name on the board!

Long story short, DH didn't want any part of the MS ride; however, when I picked up my bike, DH also bought a Cannondale CAAD 9. Wow - what an expensive sport to get started in. We have spent a small fortune! We trained hard from the end of March until the end of May. We completed the MS 150 and it was very exciting. I had a little bit of IT band pain on the last day for about the last 20 miles but am thinking it was just from overuse since I had not ridden that many miles back to back.

We have continued to ride since the MS ride and we really love it! I have enjoyed finding all sorts of useful info on these boards. Looking forward to hanging out with all of you!

(still trying to figure out how to best climb some of those big hills. I walked a couple of them in the MS 150 when I ran out of steam and used the time as "cross training"!)

Not only is it expensive to get started in this sport, but by the 6th or seventh bike, it's REALLY expensive! Just kidding, I only have 2.5 bikes.

Have fun! Cannondales are great bikes. Ride it!
