    Anyone try the NuWave oven?

I saw a infomercial for the NuWave oven and it looks very useful if it does what they say. I was curious if any of you have tried one or heard anything good or bad about it? It would definitely make dinner after long rides a LOT easier if it works well.

I have not, but I've had one like this for probably 10 years or so:

My parents have had one like that, I dunno, forever. They are on their second one because they broke the glass on the first one. I think they've probably been using it for 20 years, and that's a conservative estimate.

I love it for heating up leftovers or baking smaller amounts (although I've baked a whole chicken in it, but it's shape doesn't lend itself well to some things, like enchiladas). Doesn't heat up the kitchen like a full sized oven and crispy things reheat nicely. I don't even own a microwave anymore, I either use this or if I want to reheat something that should stay moist (like, I dunno, leftover rice or something) I put it in an oven-safe bowl & put the bowl in a pan over an inverted steamer basket & some water & cover with a lid. Works beautifully and tastes so much better than nuked food.

The only down side is it is hard to find pans that will fit in there. You can use aluminum foil, or I have a ceramic quiche pan that fits perfectly. You can just heat straight inside, but then you have to clean it every time (which I dislike doing).

I had a flavorwave oven for about 8 years, the plastic dome cracked and I now have a nuwave oven. They are made by the same company, but thane bought the name "flavorwave" and make a similar machine called the flavorwave oven pro or something like that. The nu wave oven looks just like my old flavorwave, and the parts are interchangeable.
I cook everything in it. You do have to turn stuff over, which it doesn't show in any of the infomercials. We always cook our thanksgiving turkey in it, we just turn it on several sides as it's cooking. My regular oven doesn't work so this gets used for everything.

I bit the bullet and ordered a Nuwave Pro from Amazon last night. I just love the idea of being able to cook that quickly without heating up the whole darn place. I have a gas oven in my apartment and it is like a freaking furnace! If a recipe calls for 350 I set is at about 315 because it's so hot. So needless to say in my little apartment my AC and my oven battle each other every time I cook which I'm sure runs up my gas AND electric bill, ack! I'm excited and hopeful this little gadget works for me

Not particularly. I've heated up (frozen) chicken strips & fish sticks/filets in it without turning them; I've cooked whole chickens (but cut in half) without turning. With the chicken I set them on the rack that comes with it, so they get air flow all around.
