    cop cars on the C & O

On Monday afternoon I saw a lot of police cars driving on the C & O. I don't really know why they were driving on it. I do know that I had to pull over in to the weeds a whole lotta times.

Did another fisherman &/or kayaker go into the water recently, perchance?

Real cop cars. and I overheard one of them saying something about someone spotting some guy a half an hour ago but this was only when I was passing tow cop cars stopped at a T on the path.

I'm not sure if they were all meeting at a spot or patrolling the path. It was from Great falls to above Fletchers. I know this because it was the precise time span of the pouring rain that I could have waited through.

Being that close to the city, I wouldn't be surprised if they were looking for someone who broke into a car or something. The parking areas from Angler's Inn all the way down the Clara Barton Pkwy are notorious for that.

Would that then be Maryland cops?

Could it have been these two boneheads? http://www.wtop.com/?nid=706&sid=1685324
