w00t! I got to see it first! What a gem! I can't decided what I love most! The gorgeous fork crown, gecko rotor, little wood bits, purdy color. That guy does amazing stuff, he had some real beauties at the hand built show.

Question, maybe I missed this, but is it internally geared?

That is one beautiful bike!!! Hope you both enjoy many happy miles together

Funny how hard it is to get a good tandem fit - we're struggling too...

Wow- what an immensely beautiful bike!!!! When I first looked at it, I had to REALLY look because there was so much beauty to take in. I love the super adjustable stem, and the little details. The Rohloff hub seems like a great idea (and when a bike weighs in that heavy, who cares about a little extra?).
Congrats on your new ride. I hope you get many, many happy miles and memories on it.

I'm sure it's just visually deceiving, but why does the reach on the stoker seem soooo much longer than that captain?

It's not an illusion. When the pictures were taken we hadn't finished making adjustments. In the pictures stoker's handlebar is about as far away as it can get.

We still haven't taken it for a ride. I've got chest congestion and a slight fever. A nice way to start Spring Break - not.

V - that is one SWEET looking tandem! When are you and Thom bringing it to Maine so we can ride and see it in person (although our Chrysler glod Cannondale might get a complex...).

Congrats. Can't believe how beautiful that is!

We're going to Maine/Vermont this summer. Not sure which bikes we're bringing. We are doing a tour of the gaps in Vermont. Some of those do get a little steep I understand, so we may bring the singles.

Oh and the color... it's the same as our Subaru.

We had a good first ride on the new tandem today. Thom was very meticulous in measuring my set up on my Legolas and he got the fit on the new bike perfect.

Even though we haven't ridden a tandem in three years, most things just came back naturally. Our starts and stops were very smooth. At first we both felt a little wiggly, but as the ride went on that diminished. Standing on a climb was great, although I wish we had had a little more gear. Thom is still figuring out the Rohloff hub, so that will come with time. We stood to hammer on a flat section though and I started throwing bike like I would on my single. OOPS! What's worse is I was throwing in sync with Thom. Just once was enough to remind me that I am not in charge.

I've still got a cold and anytime I worked hard, my breathing would start getting really raspy, so we only rode about ten miles. I'm glad we got out though.
