    Ugh Go Away Cold!

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I have had a mild cold for a week now. Just stuffy nose, some drainage, some sore throat. Nothing to go to the doctor for because it isn't getting worse I don't even cough just sometimes sneeze. Might be allergies, might be a cold but gosh won't it just go away? I don't feel like riding, I don't feel like running. I just feel like whining.

    I have allergies..

My allergies have very similar symptoms of a cold (congestion, drainage, sore throat, sore eyes, fatigue) but do not go away until the pollen (or whatever it is) goes away It's like the indefinite cold...unaffected by rest and drinking water

    Yuck! Drink lots of liquids.

I know it is really really hard to believe, but in my marathon training I got a cold. Once I convinced myself to pull it together and bring my tissue, the run actually helped clear me out some. I just took a ton in my fuel belt and left.

Doesn't work for everyone, and you have to overcome how bad you are feeling...

I have actually thought maybe getting out would do me some good. DH has hard intervals tonight so I am going to ride along the route. He will be able to let me catch up on his rest intervals. I will either feel better or miserable but at least I can stop feeling like a cow. I feel so lethargic.

Yuck, I know how you feel. Two weeks ago I came down with a wicked head cold that lasted exactly a week, with the runny nose part dragging on for a few extra days. The symptoms were exactly as you described yours. I pretty much went with lots of liquids + lots of rest, and it finally cleared up on its own. I don't know if you are able to take Sudafed, but that helped me with the stuffy nose part. (Real Sudafed, that is; the kind you now have to get from behind the pharmacist counter.)

    Hope ya feel better soon!

I decided to give in and try my allergy meds today (fingers crossed). Mold is up which I am not known to have allergy to and I am not sneezing much but I sure am stuffy so maybe. If that doesn't work I will try Sudafed Jacky, thanks!

Last night I did my balance ball legs and abs. Oh my word my butt hurts! I have never done the legs, just the abs. Squats are the devils work I tell ya but at least I did something. Still can't breath. I love spring.
