OK, I'll apologize in advance, this just popped into my head and demanded to be posted.

Stopping for food on a sunny morning

I need some chickpeas, that I know.
I'm riding on the road bike, though.
And I have nothing nice and roomy
In which my groceries to stow.
My bike must wonder why I'm gloomy.
But wait - two-pocket Pearl Izumi
A one-pound bag of peas will take.
[The meter's wrong? Too bad. So sue me.]
The owner knows my chosen sport.
So though my visit will be short
She takes no notice of my cleats
But compliments me on my skort.
The store is homey, so I greet
The workers, but I'm not home yet -
I've peas to soak before I eat,

    Awesome!

I decided to ride my bike to work
so I tucked in my pants (looked like a dork)
cruised down the road with new gloves on
listening to an old Beatles song.

    I can't think of any more....have a great day!

My lyric writing skills s*ck, despite the fact I used to teach writing...

Went on a short 15.8 mile ride, on my regular loop that I do on weekdays (Monument St.-Lowell Rd). It is sunny and 55 out, just beautiful. Still trying to take it easy, both physical and mentally, which is working out well. If I put no pressure on myself, I actually improve. On the way back, on the flat part of the loop, a guy passed us. We caught him fairly quickly and then my husband passed him. There was a car behind me, so I just stayed behind him. He kept looking back, to see if the "girl" would pass him. I decided, hey, I would use his draft until I turned to go home, where he blew right through a 4 way stop, with lots of traffic.

I did a lovely 13 mile loop this morning in the crisp cool sun, 35F.
It was great!- my legs are happy now.

I rode 3/4 mile from my house, when I hear "POP! psssssssssssss!" Front tire starting to deflate. Heel the bike around and head home. Halfway up the hill, and had to get off and push the bike home (at 28 degrees, I didn't really feel like changing the tire outside when the warm house was so close).
Got home. Took the tire off. Gave it a through cleaning and going-over. Cleaned the rim. Put on a new (old/patched) tire from the seatbag. As I rode off again, I called to DH "If it goes flat again, I'm calling in sick!"
Got 2.5 miles up the road. Turned onto a side street, and heard the familiar "thud, thud, thud...."
    Flat again!!!
Phone out. Call up the DH. "Come rescue me."
Got a whopping 4 miles in.
BTW...didn't call in sick. Called in late....he drove me to work. Patch was/is fine on the second tire. STILL can't find what caused either flat.
    grrrrr....

Is a fall really a fall....

... if no one saw it? No? Cool.

So either side of definitely NOT doing a slo-mo clipped-in fall while stupidly trying to u-turn on a too-narrow but fortunately deserted road, I did three reps up and back a stretch of the ridge road along from my house About 12k in total, and 270m altitude.

Had to stand in the pedals and puff like a train to get up the steep bits even in my lowest gear . I think it's 34-25. Is that how you write it? Currently undecided on whether fitness will improve enough that it'll cease to be an issue, or whether to admit defeat and get a different cassette Will give it a bit more time.

Getting marginally braver on the downhills Max speed now up to 41.9km (26 mph or thereabouts). No idea when that was - I certainly wasn't looking down at the speedo at the time LOL.
