(My mom went to University of Alabama. I didn't grow up in the south but I've been back for a few Alabama-Auburn games -- they get pretty rowdy).

I find some of the rivalry's amusing. When living in Mississippi there was a HUGE divide between Ole Miss Rebel's and MSU Bulldogs. Almost as bas as NASCAR. Maybe worse.
I was from a Big Ten state but don't really pay attention. My sister on the other hand is in three or four fantasy football leagues as is her husband.

Despite the fact that my co-workers know I'm from "out west" when I tell them I went to U of A, they ask "University of Alabama". Now why would they think that??? Never been there.
