I took this class several (like 6) years ago and found it very useful. I wasn't sure if I was interested in re-entering the racing world, but I did get refreshed on some useful techniques. I recommend the Artemis class!

Oh, wow. Now THIS looks cool! (Too bad it's Artemis!)DH and I could easily ride our bikes there.....it is literally right around the corner from our house.
Hmmmm.........

What's the matter with Artemis?
Their reputation precedes them on the road...and it's not very good.
With a few noteable exceptions, they are known for being standoffish to the point of arrogance. Fiercely protective of their own, they barely acknowledge anyone in a group who is not wearing their colors.
It's those "skills" I would not hope to learn.

That's true (about many of the attitudes on the team), but I've heard good things about the clinic. I will be out of town and not attending, but I thought I'd pass it along. I imagine that Evelyn will be doing a lot of the organizing, and she is pretty friendly to 'outsiders.'
This is co-ed, isn't it??
DH may be interested, too.

Yes. It's only divided into "adults" and "juniors" sections. I just got the info in an email about the women's series, I think because Evelyn is sort of in charge of both that and the clinic.
It's $35 for adults, $25 for juniors and includes bfast and lunch.
Here's the blurb on bikereg:
Have you ever thought about giving bike racing a try, but are not quite sure how to do it? What makes racing different than fast, hard group rides? Do other people ask you if you "race?" Or maybe you just want to be a more proficient and skillful rider.
This clinic is aimed at the athletic road bike rider who has never raced before and wants to give it a try. The information provided spans the very basics of riding for racing on and off the bike, and to the special skills needed for different kinds of races.
Basic information from what to expect to how to get a license and local resources will help you get past the paperwork and to feel comfortable when you arrive at your first race. Training tips and targeting your strengths will get you ready this winter to race next spring with confidence!

this would be really interesting, not so much that I am interested in racing but it would be a fun aspect to incorporate into my riding. however, I have a time conflict and it won't work out for me.
Thanks TE! You pushed me half way over!
