First of all, looks like you're new, so welcome to TE... I'm pretty new around here myself, but I think it's a great place to "hang out."
Second... wow. Congratulations on all you've overcome and best of luck with your goals and your new bike!

Short story...back injury in Feb. I was paralyzed and didn't have use of my bowel and bladder until my emergency surgery. In April I had to have my gall bladder out. 2 surgeries in 10 weeks! I vowed to never take my health and body for granted again (I was overweight, stressed, taking care of eveyone else.) After a great physical therapist got me working out 3 days a week(hard) I lost 30 pounds and am strong. I've watched my husband do triathalons, races, and centuries for 5 years thinking I could never do that. In June I told him I was going to do the Wish A Mile with his team next year (300 miles in 3 days). He bought me a carbon fiber Giant OCR2 so that I would like cycling. I love him so much! Anyway I work out 5 days a week, have only taken my bike out a few times. I have it on a trainer in my LR. I love my new strong body and I love my new bike!

Sounds like you are on your way to a healthy new life!! I can relate, having had some serious health issues last year. I have lost over 55 lbs. and recently began biking again with my hubby. I have a Giant hybrid that sat in my living room for a few years while I neglected my health. I dusted her off, tuned her up, accessorized the heck out of her and she is my health partner. Since cycling, I have been getting stronger every time I ride and have a major goal of doing the MS150 ride next May (2 days, 75 each day). In the beginning I thought there was no way I could, but now I am positive I CAN! You will too - best wishes to you for health and happy riding!!
