    OMG...........The ride was brilliant!

Cheers for all the previous good luck and best wishes and of course many thanks to those who kindly sponsored me on my London Bikeathon ride in aid of Leukaemia Research.

Am going to show off but I don't care, 'cos it was all absolutely fantastic.

I got my medal, the best thing I've ever got..........OK, of course my partner got one and so did the other 6000 riders!

We all left at silly o'clock in order to get there early and it paid off, got positioned right up at the front.

The guys in the yellow T-shirts queueing for the 52 mile ride, us in the blue T-shirts had an even bigger queue behind us!

Looking around after the ride, noticed a couple of fit young 'plods', asked nicely and got a photo with them.

Oooooooops, a 'plod' is slang for policeman.

Last of all, I made a new friend, a Chelsea Pensioner, it was the Royal Chelsea Hospital grounds where the ride started and finished!

Bit of trivia, the term Chelsea Pensioner is used to refer to an in-pensioner at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, that is, a former British soldier who lives within the Royal Hospital.

As I get older, the one thing I don't want to lose is my memory........yeah, I know, already lost my marbles.

FINALLY, by the weekend I will have over £3000 plus £600 gift aid, not bad for a 26 mile ride.

It's cool that everyone wore their t-shirts.

That picture with your new "friend" reminded me of a pic I have of my dad in Las Vegas in the '70s. He's sitting next to a similarly stiff mermaid on a bench, and he's feeling her up.

    Congratulations!
