    Roadie saddles again..

Still having a hard time getting comfie on the road saddle. Too much pressure on the front. My specialised saddle is great off road, but no good on this bike. Have tried to persevere with the Terry I ended up buying on recommendation, but although it feels soo soft and squidgy to my hands, it's agony on my bits. Have tried bring the seat forward, dropping the nose, raising the bars, to no avail. Still seem to be sitting on my bits instead of my sit bones, and the width of the terry is beginning to chafe the top of my legs now.

Time to take some drastic action?

Has anyone tried one of these weird looking things?

I have dreamed of something like this but didn't know they existed. However, are they any good for sporty riding? Can't help but notice that the girls at the Olympics are riding right on the nose of their saddles. I think I'd need surgery to be able to ride like that!!!

In all likelihood the pear shape of the Terry is contributing to the chafing, too. Try a more T-shaped saddle and compare, that will give you an idea if you are a pear-rider or a T-rider. Unfortunately, there's no shortcut to figuring that one out. (that I know of, anyway!) Just trial and error. But if you are chafing at the fold at the top of your leg (kind of like in what would be the panty-line, or the hamstring attachment) that's pretty classic for a saddle that might be too pear-shaped for the motion of your hip joints.

Maybe you just need a bigger cutout - have you tried Selle SMP? They have a ton of models depending on whether you want carbon, or padding, more padding, narrower, wider...

The softer and more padded a saddle is, the less your weight will be only on the sitbones, and the more the padding/foam/gel/whatever stuff will be pushing up against your delicate parts in front.
