    More socks!

For weeks I've been using the same pair of running socks.

When I started running, I just wore my bicycling socks, but my feet seemed to slide around and the socks seemed to bunch up near my toes. So I bought these to try out in my first round of buying tri stuff. These worked great and only having one pair was fine, since I was only running every other day.

But now that I'm on break and upping the ante... one pair wasn't going to cut it. I put in my order to TE on Sunday and my new socks are here today. I know it helps not being too far away, but still, I'm happy.

Oh... and yesterday I wrote about having a tri drawer. It's a small lingerie drawer. I also have a sock drawer - it's a big drawer. I think I have a sock fetish.

    Can you ever have enough????

They are taking over the undies on the left side of the drawer -- it's about 1/8 undies, 1/5 sport bras -- the rest all socks. And this is a 4' long drawer! When I find what works, I buy a bunch! Love the ones you just bought, by the way! I also LOVE Balega socks for running.

I use those smart wool socks you show as my casual lounge around socks.

For running (well, whatever, I don't "run", but for that stupid marathon I did in 2006) and for cycling, I use these:

I also just got these (in green - DUH) and they are delicious for cold days:

Oh - and these are great for hiking:

    I love socks.

I'd been looking at the polka dot ones...

But seriously, I have an overstuffed drawer full of socks.

They're wonderful. I love them. so cozy - super soft. Almost like cashmere.

ETA: The ones you are using are sort of a gateway sock.

I was a thorlo addict, then got converted to smartwool socks for many years. Recently I've decided Balega socks are my one and only. I've recently acquired 5 pairs (which is how many days of the week I run). Before I had to ration them to long run days but now my feet are happy every day of the week!

    Socks!

I love Smartwool socks but I need to track down some of those grey ones for offroad bog hopping....haven't seen them in any of the online shops I frequent. I could use a few more pairs (no really I do ) as I seem to run and pedal with my toes up and put holes in my socks (and through the mesh of my last pair of cycling shoes).

I get paid tomorrow, may have a bit of a peek in some shops today...

I got mine here at TE. I didn't get the gray, just the orchid and blue.

Buy any color, after a couple of rounds of bog hopping they will be grey

They do go grey but I prefer to have non-murky socks for other things. I haven't checked the postage from TE to the UK recently...

Yeah, I tend to forget about that overseas postage thing. For socks you kinda have to wonder if it's worth it.

I don't mind paying the postage for my Ground Effect jerseys.

    Are those wool socks itchy?????

I used to not be able to close my drawer for all of the socks..now I have a (big deep) straw basket on a shelf in my closet just for workout socks..it's so nice to be able to shut my drawers again...
