1st ever night ride - WOW!!!

so tonight I went for my 1st ever night ride. It's winter down here & dark by 5pm now. Got extra lights for my bike & helmet this afternoon so was quite the "safety queen".

Wow - it was so much fun. Only did 25k cause dh was at home with kids & didn't want him to worry.

I might have found a whole new timeslot to fit riding into. The possibilities seem endless.....

    Who else rides at night?

    yep

    NMT..

I cycle in the dark all the time now too and don't mind. I must admit I still have a hard time seeing even with my helmet light. The lighting 'round here is crap.

I've mountain biked at night & it's tons of fun!!

How are those windy Wellington hills

    Hi CC,

Well tonight the flats felt like hills into the northerly! Then to get home I had to ride up the hill - read jolly mountain! - into the northerly. I just keep telling myself the pain is all in my mind & it will stop soon!

Was also only 9 degrees C by the time i got home. Love my ground effect gear especially the daddy long legs!

I took my yellow glasses off at one stage and was really surprised at how dark it was. I rode near the city so it's all well-lit.

NMT, I can visualize those hills you have to conquer! I remember driving in Wellington and thinking about the souls that get up dem hills!

An Ice Queen and some Daddy Long legs keep me toasty on the windy mornings here in Perth.

I'm really annoyed that Ground Effect discontinued the warmer version of the Vespa . I just steal Ian's

    C
