Hi, I am trying to get a feel as to what works best under helmuts for gals. Can you please share what has been working for you?
    Thanks

are you talking to keep your head warm in the winter? dry in the rain?
If its warm and dry I generally don't put anything under my helmet. I wear a Sugoi beanie if its cold, a brimmed cycling cap if its raining and both if its cold and raining....
Having more than one helmet is helpful - then I don't have to mess with adjusting the straps every time I change what I'm wearing underneath.

Nothing but my head - I used to wear a very thin headband on hot days, but no more.

Depends on the day and weather...

Some warm days, nothing under the helmet. Other warm days, a wicking beanie, particularly if I don't want my super-short hair sticking up through the vents. This is usually the case on commute days- it's hard to get rid of the wookie hair at work. Hmmm...maybe I should start rocking the wookie at the office? A little hair gel...

Cold days, either a thin wool beanie or, if it's really cold, a balaclava.

I use a skull cap (beanie) that absorbs sweat. It goes down a little lower than your average skull cap. Main reason I use it is to block wind out of my ears. I use it in almost any weather, except for when it's hot. It really makes a big difference. It allows me to ride as long as I want, as opposed to not having it on ... I'm only able to ride a couple of miles before the ear pain starts. I think I got it in the snowboard section.

I wear a classic old style bike hat under my helmet. I like that it keeps the sun off my face.

I don't wear anything under the helmet in the summer, but I do throw on a Buff after my ride. Hubby uses a Halo to keep sweat out of his eyes. In the winter I wear a polar fleece head band and sometimes a Gore helmet cover if it's windy and really cool.

I quite often wear a bandana, or as I have heard it called "do-rag" "drug helmet" or "babushka" !! It absorbs the sweat, keeps my helmet from moving around at all, and looks ok when I take the helmet off (but wet with sweat)

For the winter, I have a hood type deal that has a fleece neck attached. I LOVE that under my riding or biking helmet. If I get too warm, I can pull the hood down and just have the neck part.

I've actually been wearing a coolmax liner type thing (like a coolmax super thin skull cap, basically) and I notice my temperature seems a lot more regulated. If it's cold, my sweat doesn't freeze me, and if it's warm, the sweat goes away. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do, but I wear it every time I ride now.

It wouldn't be enough in the winter, and we'll see in the heat of summer, but so far so good. I bought it on the cheap at REI, so it's got great "Live 2 Ride" "Ride 2 Live" motorcycle style graphics on it. My husband makes fun of me.
