    Another travel question-

    Hey there,

Just wondering about Sandpoint Idaho..Is it a town worth stopping in for a night? We're just planning the next portion of our trip & are playing with google directions..I don't have any travel books for the US & thought i'd ask here...

If anyone's ever stopped there & can suggest a place NOT to stay that would be cool. I'll keep searching & pondering what route to take.

    Any other ideas?

    Tanks!

    Sandpoint

Yup, it's a good place for stopping for a day or two. There's probably more to see and do than I remember. It was an overnight stop on a week long bike tour we did a couple years ago. Quaint town, with lots of shops, neat downtown area, and home to Coldwater Creek main store and corporate office. That alone is worth spending a few hours in, if you like shopping for clothing bargains :-) If you're not familiar, check out www.coldwatercreek.com - it's my favorite clothing store

I can't recommend where to stay or not stay, we camped ovenight in a school field. I just remember thinking it would be nice to come back a spend a few days in the area.

I can't recommended a hotel as it's a day trip for me,** but when hubby had a job site there he'd stay at Connie's Motor Inn on the main drag.

It's a cute little town undergoing typical resort town growing pains. The city beach is a must-do. The view is awesome and the sand is great. They have a dog park near by. The cold water creek outlet is to die for, there's great ice cream shops on the main shopping drag, restaurants are average.

But it's a beautiful community. Not sure where you are going from or going to, but sure, it would be a great stop.

    **I live in Spokane.

Hi, I just PM you but . . . if you're planning to go to Sandpoint, coming across and down Hwy 2 into Spokane would be an easy option. And you would be driving right pass my house. But I still highly recommend seeing the Falls downtown. I went by tonight and I don't think I've ever seen them looking so awesome. Just let me know! bikerHen

And don't forget, if you need to get gas, fill the tank in Idaho.

    cool!

How's this for a cool coincidence..

I was in a panic today as i could not find a place in Sandpoint onwards to check PM's in order to catch up with Bikerhen..I didn't want to seem rude for not calling her ahead of time informing her we'd be there at the promised time..

Weeel...we wandered on over to the Spokane waterfront, walked a bit wondering hmmm...walked towards the falls & saw three folks on bikes..They just happened to be the folks we were looking for..

Thanks Bikerhen, Bikerchick, Bikerhenhusband & sister for meeting us for lunch!

I'll post photos when we get back home to Perth..

    We've taken about 1000 photos..

That is great CC. Glad to hear you caught up with the Hen gang. Bikerhen is such a cool lady.

Look forward to seeing your pics when you get home.
