Just wanted to share a personal best/first with you.
My goal was 70.
I rode 70 miles today.
I almost didn't make it!
I felt pretty pooped before I even set out. I had that feeling that I wasn't going to get done today. I didn't sleep well last night and woke up early this morning.
I rode 42 miles to the city nearest mine and wssed out. My mom lives there. I rode to her doorstop and had her give me a ride home. Mommy
The entire drive home the inner drill sarg. was giving me heck. My mom dropped me off at my house, I had lunch, and went out and finished up. Don't tell my mother
It was a beautiful day. I feel great for pushing through the mental/physical block. A good milestone to have under the belt.
I'll be topping the day off with my best girlfriend and a chick flick.
Thanks for letting me share.
Anyone else have a great ride?

I had to respond to this because the "butter - the other white meat" cracked me up
I did not do 70 miles, however, I found time to do 15. Lovely day yesterday here in the great PNW....85, sunny, mountains a bright white against a brilliant blue sky. Can't ask for better!
Congrats on the personal best flybye!!
Kristen!
CONGRATULATIONS Flybye on persevering and finishing your 70 mile ride! Don't worry I won't tell your mom!Way to go! Wooo Hoooo!
Hope you had a good time with your friend! You earned a good movie! I just hope you didn't fall asleep during the movie! I know after a long hard ride I am so tired I usually can't keep my eyes open once I'm showered and relaxed for the night. But that's me! I think it's my age getting to me!![]()
Again congrats on finisihing your 70 mile ride!
And cyclingnewbie, 15 miles is great too! Especially with this gorgeous weather we've been getting! Enjoy it! I was out in it yesterday morning too. I did 30 miles on the Orting Trail. I started from the trail head in Puyallup next to the tulip farm and went to the end at South Prairie then back to Puyallup. 30 miles out and back!![]()
Susan that sounds like a fabulous ride! I managed a ride each day this weekend...weather was way too nice to miss. After all, we may not see sun again until NEXT summer!
Seriously though, I am going up to Bellingham this weekend, and am taking my bike. It will be a treat to ride some flat land instead of the hills here. I have decided that I do not like hills....they just get in my way!
Kristen!
Cyclinnewbie, this weekend is supposed to be nice! Not as hot as this past weekend but nice! According to kiro and king 5 in the 70s and sunny! Perfect biking weather.
Yea, what's up with those hills getting in the way? Bellingham will be fun! Joe and I will be riding locally all three days of this Memorial Day weekend. I can't wait!
Have fun!
