Ritchey cranks?

Anyone have experience with Ritchey cranksets? I'm looking at the Pro-V cyclocross cranks (48/38). I read somewhere that the Ritchey cranks are actually manufactured by Sugino -- any thoughts on this?

Also looking at:

FSA's cross cranks -- but I was looking at the cheaper ones, the Gossamer cranks, which they make in 46/36 -- but I read with trepidation the thread in Maintenance about several people who have had trouble with Gossamer road cranks.

Bontrager Race Lite compact cranks (50/36, but I think I've seen a lower-geared, cross-specific Bontrager crank too)...

Regl'r ole 105 cranks. They come in a nice black finish that would look good on the bike . Sadly I don't think the quirky 50/39 compact version though (it's the one I'd probably want, since a 50/34 compact is too gappy for me, I think). I've never actually used 105 cranks -- my old road bike had FSA's, new road bike has Ultegra cranks, and *this bike* has a triple Sugino crankset (though everything else is 105). Any feedback on 105 cranks?

Thoughts/experience with any of these? All advice appreciated...

Basically I'm looking for something fairly inexpensive, but at least comparable in quality to 105. And I am pretty sure I want compact or, ideally, cross gearing (though I did see some 2007 105 standard road cranks for such a good deal I'd consider it).

I'm not familiar with any of these cranksets, but be advised that Ritchey issued a recall earlier this year for certain WCS and Pro cranksets: http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech.php?...008/news/01-23 (page down).

If you decide to go with the Ritcheys, make sure to double-check the code stamped on the inside of the non-drive crankarm.
