I sold my road bike.

I sold my beautiful Trek 1000 tonight. She went to a good home but I'm still sad. Of course it was my choice. I listed it for a good price and the right person came along.

Now if I can just find a way to get across the USA and get my hands on Elk's Aurora.

Too many bikes and I'm trying to simplify. But, I may want to do something different. I think instead of a road bike, I want something with more of a touring geometry. I've always wanted the Aurora, but they don't sell them anywhere close to me.

I'm going to take my time and decide. I'm keeping Blossom, so I can still ride.

I just put a down payment on this bike today.

It's gonna be my canal bike. It was so sexy, all black with "Trek" outlined in pink.

I'll keep the Perfomance bike I got from F8th for anyone who wants to ride with me but has no canal bike.

the mixte was going to be my town bike but this one will make a good town bike too.

Oh Zen you'll love that bike. It's really smooth. If I didn't already have one (even though it's 6000 km away) I probably would buy another one!

I was wondering why you are selling it. Whew, I thought you were slowing down on the biking. Well, guess what? I decided that my Burley was too much of a racing bike too. The largest tire I can put on it is 27mm, no fenders, no rack on the back. I've bid on a Rivendell and a Bridgestone in the past year, but Knotted, Elk, Xeney and others have been quietly getting under my skin with "surly,surly,surly". I have a Surly Cross Check ordered. I think when Xeney talked about switching tires that clinched it. I talked to my lbs, and he ordered a Surly frame for me. Geometry is exactly the same except the TT is just .4 cm longer than the Burley, and the wheelbase is longer, but that's what I wanted. He will fit it since the fork is uncut, so I will have my bars even with my seat without a goofy 45 deg. stem. Has room for up to 48mm tires or I can run my extra skinny road tires on it. I'm just going to get an extra wheelset so if I go out of town, I'm good for road, gravel or railtrails. I'll just keep the wheels in the car. Gonna transfer the parts from my Burley, except for the brakes, but my dearly loved Brooks from LisaSH will go on it. I like the honey with black.

I swore I would never get rid of my road bike, but I wasn't riding it as it really wasn't practical. I think this guy will do all that I want and I too, can clean out my stable. Already have my mountain bike on craigslist.

Are we always thinking alike or what???? Now we can go from coast to coast, ending up next year at the TE bike fitting with Wahine and Knotted!

I asked my friend yesterday if she wanted to "borrow" my Dolce for a little while. I want to see what it will be like without her. Baby steps.

I had a Trek 1000 as my first road bike - and every once in a while I still get to visit him. He is sitting in a friend's garage in California - never hardly being ridden.

Yes, I will miss my Burley. She's a good one and they don't even make them anymore! I was never crazy about my particular mountain bike, so selling it is okay!
