Amen! I scared a lot of poor little gray squirrels off the trail today. I kept asking myself why I didn't head out there sooner. It helps to have the right clothes combination, of course.Spring is coming . . or so they say.

So, I'm a total baby about the cold, and I took a rather long hiatus from outdoor biking. But, today it hit 50 degrees combined with sun and no wind, so I donned my tights and windbreaker and took myself to the park for a couple of laps. So fun... And SO DIFFERENT from the trainer. I feel like a new woman!
I didn't even mind getting chatted up by some guy who just wanted to tell me all about his cool Computrainer. I saw about 5 other roadies in the park but no other women...![]()

I was getting excited because it's been in the upper 40's/low 50's this week and the clocks change this weekend. Naturally, the temps are supposed to drop back into the 30's next week![]()
I went out yesterday too... my first ride since Thanksgiving.
I had stocked up on some winter running gear just before I broke my foot (stress fracture) so two layers of good wicking fabric was all I needed to make a 32 windchill acceptable to me...I am a such a wimp when it comes to the cold.
I had to have all the usual protection layers today... high temp 26 or so with snow showers. It still felt good taking that folding bike for a test!
We've got 50's in the forecast, though. I can't wait to see just how nuts people get when it happens.
RIJ73, In case you did not see my post in another thread, here is the link to the Blomin Metric that you asked for:

That is great you got in an outdoor ride. I have yet to do so. It looks like the better days are during the week. I was hoping to get out tomorrow, but I hear the winds hollowing. It would have to calm down an awful lot. I see another trainer ride happening.

Thanks JoAnn! Yes, I bookmarked the info about that ride. I'll discuss it with DH, but it sounds good! Norwalk is a quick drive from us here in the city.

Good for you! I love going out when it's 40-50*. The cold air is very refreshing. My hubby and I had a cabin fever day 2 weeks back. It was 35* and clear...so you guessed it!
It was COLD! You can still see snow in the background. We did 25 miles that day.
This week is looking very good for semi-warm weather. It might even reach 45 to 50*! We already have a riding date for Wednesday!
That's my man- Patrick and he is very cute!
