    tioga spider pedals?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I saw these on the rivendell site :http://www.rivbike.com/#product=14-054

and am really intrigued. I'm going to take my power straps off until later on in the season (at least)...I'm just more comfortable with a "loose foot" for now...and sick of falling over!

I find that the pedals on my Aurora are already kind of sticky, so my feet don't slip at all...and looking at the grips on thse makes me think it could even get better..and I could still have free feet...

they are a bit dear..but could be worth it...?

    any input?

Have you looked at any other BMX pedals? They do seem awfully expensive but then
    frogs go for about $135.
I've learned it doesn't pay to be cheap.

I was thinking about putting Frogs on my canal bike but after losing three Ebay auctions you've got me thinking about BMX...

I have a second hand set of Wellgo BMX pedals that I got from my LBS. I really like the platform pedals over the Frogs for my mtb.

Aesthetically speaking, I think it's an interesting choice for you Aurora. I would do it, but then I do have a tendency of challenging convention

I decided on the BMX pedals when I was exercising the dogs on the bike. It's so nice to just jump off when I need to. With the Frogs, it took me longer to unclip and it was a little more challenging.

same for me all down the line...only I never tried clipless...just cages and power grips.

Elk, it's a whole lot easier to unclip from Frogs than to get out of those cages.
    Cages scare me.

that's good to know, zen, for the future....

i was only using the toe part...no straps....and then I used the power grips, which are ONLY strap...and I realized that I'm kind of worried the whole time that I won't get my foot out in time should I have to stop suddenly....

and I have fallen a bunch of times...so until I get more confident in my body again....I want my feet back!!

so these BMX pedals sound kind of perfect for now...grippy, but free.

I love BMX pedals on my bikes! My Surly Cross Check has Crank Bro 50/50 BMX pedals. Trek420's Motobecane mixte has Wellgo BMX pedals. My Giant road bike will have BMX pedals, too. "My" Kona Smoke also has BMX pedals.

They look fine, they feel great. My other favorite pedal is Speedplay Frogs. (but they're only on my Waterford zooom-bike)
