    Horsey Hundred 2008

    To disable ads, please log-in.

According to the Horsey Hundred website, the courses for Saturday are all new this year. Lunch will be at Keenland for all the route lengths, including the centruy, so that's exciting. It's a beautiful race track! I'm already looking forward to it.

    Here's the site: http://www.bgcycling.net

Who looks like they'll be doing it this year? Any hotel recommendations?

I'll probably be there that is if I survive the 3-State 3-Mountain ride the first weekend in May!

Makbike, I saw your name on a 3-state, 3-mountain challenge thread on Bikejournal and was so excited for you. That looks like a fantastic, albeit challenging, ride. Good luck!

Maybe I'll be able to recruit you to do the Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee with me in September. It's in the eastern part of the state this year!

I'm seriously considering this one. However, I am doing BRAT and would be interested in making TE contacts for that ride.

Feel free to PM me about BRAT. I did it last year and would be happy to provide you with information. I'm planning on doing it (although I'd like to see the ride information first) so we can try to hook up there.

Indy - thanks for the warm wishes - I'm scared to death and only hope I've not overestimated my abilities. Heck I've never climbed a mountain on my bike and now I'm thinking 3 in a 100 mile day is simply crazy!

I would love to join in the fun in Sept but I don't think my school district would approve not to mention it would be an unpaid week, ouch! When I retire in 7 years and 74 days I'll join in the fun!

The Silver's may be doing both the Horsey and 3S3M

Kate, are you going to stay in the dorm again?

Keeneland is an incredibly beautiful setting. Marcie, you do live in God's country!

Mr. Silver, I'm not staying in the dorm again. Those beds were just awful. I think I'll try a hotel this time around.

That's exciting that you're thinking of doing 3S3M. If the mountain climbing on BRAT goes well this year, I may do it next year. I'm too much of a scaredy cat so sign up for it this year!

Well, I hope to meet up with all of you come May!

Indy, maybe we can plan to stay at the same place, it may facilitate coming and going. We do plan to ride both days. I've asked Mr. to get with you on that. and I think we stayed at a hampton.

Great! Just keep me posted and I'll make some reservations. The woman I did it with last year had emergency surgery a few weeks ago and will off her feet for a bit so I'm not sure whether she'll be joining me.

By the way (and I may have already mentioned this), I made hotel reservations at the Drury Inn in Terre Haute for RAIN. You might think about making reservations sooner rather than later. I imagine that the hotels do fill up rather quickly.

    I can't wait until Spring!!!!!

    Take care,

You're right. I understand that RaIN has has many riders as Terre Haute has hotel rooms!

Drury is booked, so I just booked at the Hampton. Want to meet for dinner the night before?

Anyone else want to join us for dinner? Marcie? Susan?

Also, we're at the Hampton Inn for the Horsey. It was fine last year.

I would love to do RAIN but I don't have anyone to drive my support car across the state . If I find someone to do this for me I'll be there if not I'll enjoy the HH and 3S3M.

I registered for the HH and made hotel reservations at Fairfield Inn. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. I did 3S3M in 2004. I registered for the 100m but ended up doing the 100k since we didn't make the cut-off time (I had gotten somewhat nauseated but managed to complete the ride). I'm not doing RaIN this year but doing one helluva ride instead. Has anyone done the Brown County Hills Challenge? I've added that one to my event list for the year. I'm trying to make it a climbing year... well as much as you can and live in Indiana!
