It took about 16-17 hours total, with sessions lasting anywhere from 30 min to 2 hours. And yes... it hurt

Thanks, everyone! I just came up with the idea of a phoenix because it's prettymuch representative of my entire life. The tattoo artist I go to drew it for me.

That is beautiful. You chose a great design and the artist did a fantastic job.
I remember a tattoo artist I spoke with ages ago when I got mine, commented on random flash art tattoos. She said "look at all that on that persons body and there isn't one piece of art". Yours is art
I'm glad you are protecting it too. It is far too beautiful to let fade!
