    regina spektor & Continental Tires

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Well, as I type, Silver appears to be actually succeeding at getting her new Continental tires on her wheels after a month of trying

BUT, I'm listening to my new favorite singer! I heard her on vh1 last weekend, bought the CD tonight...and I have new Mercedes Music to replace Leonard Skynard and The Grateful Dead.

She gives a new spelling to R-E-S-P-E-C-T , stand aside Aretha!

    It is REgina SPEKTor

    Here she is on youtube:

Anyone else a fan of Regina Spektor?

Congratulation. You've defeated the continental monster

I've been away from the bike for several years and gotten sort of back in last year. Few things I forgot. One was the near impossible continental tires. I destroyed several of my milk bar tire irons on continental.

I ordered a set of tires for my new set of wheels on e-bay. Remembering your difficulty, I stayed away from continental and went with Michellen pro 2 tires.

so thank you silver for saving me the grief

Uh-oh. I just bought a pair of Continentals for my BF from a member here. Maybe they'll get stuck on a gravel road in NM and I won't have to hear my BF cursing as he tried to use them.

On the other subject, I LOVE Regina Spektor. She's used quite frequently in the score for Grey's Anatomy. She's great!

ehhh they aren't so bad once you get them on the first time and put some miles on them.
And I think I have the worlds weakest fingers. But I roll GP 4000's and wouldn't trade them for the world.
The main reason is the few times I NEED to change a flat. I think twice now in 2.5 years. Not a bad track record! And that includes training and racing in 2 ironman AZ's.... So LOTS o miles!
But yeah, that first go round is a BUGGER!

Thanks! I'm sooooooo relieved. I did find a $6 helper for the conti tires.

Here's my explanation of what finally worked for me.

My Continentals are, ah, actually loose to put on. I am the most mechanically challenged person in the world. I went to a tire/repair workshop a couple of weeks ago and I was dreading putting the tire back on (I didn't have any flats with them this year). To my surprise, the mechanic told me mine were actually loose and she showed me some tricks for getting them back on the rim.

Silver had me petrified of having to work with these tires...

    Mr.Silver,
I love Regina! If you go to her website www.reginaspektor.com she has a music player with tons and tons of songs on it!

Sorry! I think that the issue is actually with the initial mounting and maybe for a few weeks. Sounds like you have been riding on them for a year? I sure am hopeful that mine will loosen up. Because although I did do it, I don't wish to struggle as hard each time.

Darling...this wasn't really a Continental Tires thread! I simply used it to get a facade of legitimacy to a sharing my new favorite artist's name

Geez...FOR THE RECORD...on Saturday, Silver informed me that I was to leave the room if I was going to listen to Regina Hmmm...I waited a respectable 12 hours! I get no RESPEKT!

Mr. I really like her music, but the same songs over and over for 18 hours straight! I need some hard, classic rock mixed in, please!

I looked her up after I read about someone walking down the aisle to that song. She has a great voice, and I think it would be such a sweet song to walk down the aisle to. I guess I'll have to listen to some more of her stuff since she keeps popping up. You must be on to something!
