    Unhappy Funky Winkerbean

I've been following the saga of Lisa on Funky Winkerbean, a character that has battled breast cancer. For the first time I can remember, a cartoonist has taken the readers on a very personal and poignant journey through cancer and the death and dying process. I found it very moving and emotionally draining at times thinking of how spouses and loved ones have to cope with a loved one's terminal illness.

I guess this is particularly moving because my new sister-in-law was recently diagnosed with cancer. Most of her lymph nodes are involved. We are all coming to terms with life, living, and dying. I hope to have the courage to face cancer as Lisa has. Just wanted to share my thoughts. I guess it's a Blue Monday for me.

sorry about your sister in law. My DH actually got all teary eyed yesterday reading that.
Personally, i do not read Funky because I read cartoons for an escape from Reality!

Cancer is very hard to deal with. I'm sorry to hear about your sister in law.

My grandpa, too, has cancer, and sadly it's incurable. I'm dealing with watching his health fail, and his eventual death. He's lived a good long life, but he is my favorite grandparent.

Everyone has bad days, and some days it's just all harder to deal with than other days.

    Have happy days
