    Fall Preview

The last three mornings, I've been riding before sunrise. The weather here has been glorious---no humidity, morning temps in the mid-to-low sixties and fairly clear skies. Saw a lot of stars and some beautiful sunrises. On Sunday, I had a close encounter with a big gorgeous doe who ran out in front of me. Also encountered a trio of racoons and numerous bunnies. Didn't see any drunks, though. LOL (that's happened several times this summer). Nice preview of the fall weather. Won't be long until we have to don all those layers and winter shoes.

I didn't see ducks, but they likely were sleeping in the pond adjacent to one section of the trail.

I meant DRUNKS. Part of my ride is through a section of South Arlington where a lot of ne'er do wells hang out and drink. I've witnessed a lot of arrests in that area---Arlington County's Finest raids that area on a regular basis.

As long as they don't suddenly run across the road in front of you I think you're OK.

Oh, yes, I commuted two days last week; one of the mornings, I was COLD! (Glad my screaming yellow Whisper Jacket showed up on Saturday!) But, along the way, I did see three muskrats, tons of bunnies, and a deer that crossed my path. It's great to feel the cool weather while the sun is coming up on one side of you and the moon is still hanging in the sky out to the other side.

I'm torn - relieved to feel the cool in the morning, but sad because I know that winter is just a few very short months away.
