    Portland OR Bike Shops (clothes)

Hi all! I'm going to be coming through Portland, maybe Monday, and was wondering if there are any killer bike stores for women's clothes? I'll be heading down I-5, so Vancouver WA, Salem OR, even Eugene area...

Looking to pick up a couple extra items and just want a great, huge selection of women's cycling clothes.

Does TE have a brick & mortar store?

    Pearl Izumi

Hi Starfish. There is a Pearl Izumi store at the Woodburn outlet stores on I5. There is only one exit for Woodburn and you'll pass the stores on the freeway.
They have a women's section. It's not huge but adequate and the sales people are very nice and helpful. I went there recently and bought several items. It was great to actually try clothing on before you purchase. In the past, I had only purchased online and took my chances.

I was just in Portland last week.
Unfortunately, I spent most of my time in a hotel conference room and didn't check out much of the area beyond walking distance of the hotel. However, Powell's Books is a GREAT place to get lost (or hide) in when you have some time to kill.
A friend of mine who grew up in the area asked if I got over to River City Bicycles. She said it's a great LBS - really supportive of the local community, great stuff on hand. She raved about the place - which is high praise, as she's a LBS owner herself. I wish I could give a first-hand report - perhaps the locals can.

Hey, thanks all! I don't know my plans yet...might stay in Portland, might just stop briefly and head on down the road. But, I LOVE Powell's. And, both the PI shop and the LBS sound great. Thanks!

Just a little note...I did stop at River City Cycles on my way home from Shasta...Ooooh what a fine bike store! Tried on some Specialized Women's Carbon Pro road shoes, and I now know what I must spend my next $400 windfall on. (Shoes + Pedals) Gads.

Great store. Lots of bikes, shoes, etc. Lots of female employees.
