    I'll get my new bike

My Raleigh is playing up a bit. The derailleur cogs seem to be hitting the edge of the chain. Had a look at it tonight and decided the best thing I can probably do is take it off, give it a good clean and put on a new cable. The cable that's on is probably the original one and is definitely sticky.

Hubby's got a good pay cheque this week so I've been busy wheedling - pretty please - grovel, grovel etc. to get him to pay off the remaining balance so I can get my new bike and get used to her over the weekend. Then I can take my Raleigh off the road and service her at my leisure in preparation for winter. Hubby's a good sort and I know he'll help me get her. If he'd had better sales in his job he would have bought the bike for me long ago but it's a swings and roundabouts kind of job and things have been quite lean lately.

Tomorrow is going to be a car day as the weather forecast is pouring rain and gale-force winds.

Took a chance and cycled to work today again but it turned quite chilly and rained in the afternoon. I finally christened my cycle cape that I bought several weeks ago. It's one of the lightweight ones and it worked very well. Kept me dry and I was as snug as a bug in a rug Some warmer clothes for winter and I should be quite cosy.

The worst flooding in sixty years!
You're a better woman than I Gunga Din, for braving that weather on your bike.
I bet you won't do that on your new bike

Nope. New bike only comes out when it's dry. Just wish this rain would go away. Took the car to work today and just as well I did. It's been light rain all morning then just after 2pm the heavens opened. The deluge was so great that the drains couldn't cope and the water just came up them like Whoosh!!! The car infront of me was struggling to get through the swimming pools in the street. At least my car's high up because she's a 4x4 (SUV). Believe it or not (quick - got to grab my camera and photograph it...) the sun's just come out
