Hi,
I'm looking for the names of the red alien characters on Sesame Street that mimicked telephones & other characters..![]()
They would hear the phone & go "bring bring, yip yip yip, bring, bring " or if they saw a cow "cow, yip, yipppp, mooooooooo, coow, cow, mooo, yipppp"
If you can help me & if you *ahem* have a *ahem* *copy*..of it, *ahem* let me *ahem* know..
Otherwise, please nod your head & say "Yes dear cheryl, we know what you're on about "

I love seasame street and I know the characters you're talking about. I have no clue what they were called.
I'll ponder this and get back to you if I come up with something.

My husband and I did Bunsen and Beaker one year - everyone at the party except for the hosts, was too young and didn't have any idea who we were![]()

I remember the yip yips LOL
When anyone says yip (over here, yip and yep are both said commonly in place of yes) I think of the "yip yips"
And I can still sing (and sometimes do) one of their songs...
"Listen"![]()
yip yip yip yip yip yip yip aha aha
yip yip yip yip yip yip yip aha aha
yip yip you
yip yip me
yip yip family
yip yip yip yip yip yip yip aha aha...
Raven takes a bow... ta very much![]()
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".

I couldn't remember the name when you asked, but it brings to mind a fairly recent fabric store excursion with my 23 year old -- she spotted a piece of fabric that she said looked just like those guys!

I remember the Yip Yips too! But I had no idea they were called Yip Yips.
Sesame Street is the greatest. If I ever happen across it on PBS, I'll stop and watch for a few minutes. I even have the old 70's lunch box (sadly, no Yip Yips):

I used to sing the "yip yip you, yip yip me, yip yip family" song to SKnot when he was a wee thing!

My older sister used to sing the Sesame Street songs to me all the time when I was little. She's 10 years older than me. One day, we were sitting together, (which doesn't happen very often anymore), me 30 and she was 40. We were doing a "shift" at the hospital, sitting with our terminally ill father and I just started singing the theme song. You know the one....
Sunny day. Chasing the clouds away....
And she started to laugh. We had a great time remembering how she would sing to me and we tried to think of as many Sesame Street songs we could and sang them to my dad. At one point he stirred and lovingly said "you girls are silly." It was one of the first times in a few days he woke up and may have been the last thing he ever said to either of us.
On my way to where the air is sweet.
Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street.
What and amazing memory.
