Have only been riding (for enjoyment and exercise) just over a year now and I thought that I would not have much of a need for a computer. There was a special on at Kmart and I impulse purchased and got a very basic model. It turned out to be fairly simple to set up. And now, I would not be without it. I really keep track of the kms and try to better my previous longest ride.

My husband got a sophisticated model that records heaps of different statistics, which he insists on reading out to me! I'm a little disappointed that his doesn't feed the dog

I had to turn my bike upsidedown to change a tube and after the task was done my computer registered an extra 1,000 kms! Now this thing is only supposed to record up to 1,000 and then revert to 0000, so I am wondering what is going on. It seems to be clocking up the correct kms still (comparison with hb). I've only got about 150 kms to go before it has to turn over again and it will be interesting to see if it dies or rolls on to 2,000,

The computer is handy for calculating how much time it will take to return home and I don't have to wear a watch.
