Did the thunderstorm pass, and then you got to ride anyway?
(I love British weather, which is saying a lot since I've only been there in February (3 times) and March (once)!)

Finished work and came home. Hubby's got a bit of a chest infection so he took today off. It was tipping down with rain this morning so I took the car. Came home about an hour ago - sun shining, hardly any wind. Thinks "Great! Have a coffee then take the bike out"
Then it thunders...really loud rumbles that are getting closer and louder...
Ah well. The bike will have to stay in the shed for a while...but I love a thunderstorm![]()

“Hey, clearly failure doesn’t deter me!”
It thundered for about half an hour then it rained. After that it wasn't worth going out as I'm sorting the house out as my brother's coming down from Scotland at the weekend for a few daysHe used to be a keen cyclist at one time and was saying he'd like to get a bike again but the traffic in Aberdeen is quite horrendous and they have the unenviable title of being the most inconsiderate drivers in the UK. I told him to find the cycle routes as there's bound to be some nice cycle routes in and around Aberdeen that he could use. Knowing my brother he'll probably get a bike again.

We had a cracker of a thunderstorm last year in August. I just had to go out in the middle of it armed with camcorder. My son and his friend came too. The lightning was spectacular. One shot I took of the lightning, if you play it back on the video player frame by frame you see the lightning coming straight down, then it fades and you can see the trail of smoke it left. Within a split second another bolt of lightning goes down the trail of smoke so lightning does strike twice in the same place. We followed that storm in the car for several miles. When I was driving my son was operating the camcorder. Awesome. That storm lasted nearly 4 hours.
