can you have too much float in your pedals? I have heard about not having enough float and causing knee problems, but can the same thing be said for too much float? THANKS!![]()

"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
Yep. Depends on the person, though. Some people need zero float.
Absolutely! I've found that less experienced riders haven't developed the musculature to support their knees and hips in a neutral position with too much float. This can lead to serious knee and hip pain. So while many folks sing the praises of float for those with less-than-perfect knees, it's not always the answer.
