    Fires

The weather is perfect, temperature just right. I'm almost healed from a skiing injury. Everything is perfect for riding except the smoke from nearby forest fires is unbearable. I rode this morning before the winds blew the smoke too close. It got progressively worse and now I can feel that I was out longer than I should have been. The good news is that my spin class was busy since no one can be working out outside.

May you have a nice gentle ground soaking rain. It's too early for fire season.

ugh, just on the news...... 25,000 acres have burned. People's homes are in danger. I regret complaining about not being able to ride.

geez, it's so hard to imagine anywhere in the USA so hot and dry that it's burning in APRIL! (where are you?)

stay safe. It's okay to complain too.

I'm in Florida. The fires are actually in Georgia. Last I heard, 17 homes have been lost. Frightening. It's so dry. We need rain.

Despite the absolutely wonderful weather we're having, there is a downfall: it's extremely dry. Almost too dry for this time of year. Last night there was a small front coming through so,maybe GA got some too. Honestly, I can't wait for the daily afternoon showers.

It actually did, lots of tornodos and 3.5-4.5 inches of rain within an hour, and that's in Orlando! The thing is, iit's been really dry, so it was a like a bandaid on a gunshot wound, so to speak.

Not a drop here in North Florida. No smoke today as the winds have changed direction.

    fire & drought

    Stacie,

I understand Although Perth recieved 40mm of rain on Sunday(v close to the whole rainfall for the whole month of April in one day) we are still not out of our drought.

The fire situation during the summer was quite bad especially in the Eastern states. The water levels are not even close to being normal & water restrictions are still in place.

I hope rain comes your way soon.

    C
