    actually, i've always thought that looked very interesting. very primal, back to nature, but the more extreme side of nature, like "earth's fury" kind of thing. must have been quite the trip!
    I used to dream about ice cream, Antonio Banderas, and daquiris on the beach. Now, i dream about fresh pavement...

    Yeah, it was just amazing. We got up at 1:30 one morning to be where the lava was flowing into the ocean at dawn. It was kind of scary hiking out over the recent flow in the dark. I was glad we had done it in daylight a couple of days earlier.

    We also saw 12 dolphins while we snorkeling! They were resting underneath us I guess. They circled around in front of us, surfaced and went back down behind us. That made the 2 mile snorkel trip worthwhile!
