    Regular Bike Maintenance

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Can any of you suggest a book on regular bike maintenance and very basic adjustments for road bikes? I've looked at a couple but they seemed to complex for what I need to know for now.

What I want to know is- where (what part of the bike) should I regularly lube the bike and using what type of lub/grease (I know about the chain - it's other parts I'm not sure about) - and how often. How do I adjust the brakes, take up slack in the gears and make other like easy adjustments?

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Park Tool's Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair. Good pictures, clear instructions!

Zen's guide is really straight forward. I would also recommend http://www.parktool.com/repair/... click on the part of the bike that needs help and it will point you in the right direction.
