    Another Spinervals Newbie Question

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    Hi All!

I have been doing the Spinervals "Bending Crank Arms" and it is brutal! Whoo hoo! (Guess that sounds strange, or does it?)

Anyway, I am really struggling with doing the squats in my shoes and maintaining good form. I think mostly it is a matter of practice, building my strength and getting accustomed to the strange balance that way, i.e. heels lower than toes, but it is frustrating. I've tried several different things to help keep my balance, and it's working okay, but....

Is it just me? Anybody have any tips?

    Thanks!

You might need to take off your shoes AND work on your form. Your weight should be over your heels in a squat. Done properly, you should be able to lift your toes and balls of the feet up some while squatting. Sometimes I'll do this to ensure my weight isn't too far forward. So the cycling shoes would probably force you to have better form. I haven't tried it, though--it may still be awkward.
