    Dec 5th Friday Rides

Yay!...I finally got my bike back fixed after 6 lost days!
Got in my FIRST ride of the new year, am so happy about it.
Made my very first little log entry on Bikejournal....21 miles for TeamEstrogen.

It was very windy today, dark and drizzley- but weirdly warm, 55 degreesF. What is UP with this weather this winter?? High of 65 tomorrow, and again 50 on Sunday? I thought this was January...
I was able to dress lightly and not wear my heavy boots. It felt so GOOD to be back on my bike again, with a bare neck and open jacket in the breeze. (Hey and I heard BikingMomof3/Jennifer is back on her bike on a trainer, great news!!)

I just read that the weather is going to change over there soon.
You just left me in the dust, there's no way I could stay on the bike that long in the basement. Keep chugging away there.

Here in Seattle if we wait for "good" weather we don't get to ride, but this windy rain stuff is just too much.

You shouldn't have said anything i didn't notice that it said December until you mentioned it.

    Bwah!

I just came back from a quick ride - given that it's the 5th of January and I live in MA, it is amazing that I did this ride in SHORTS! We hit a high of 65 here today, and supposed to do at least that tomorrow....

    Global warming SUCKS .

Drizzley here... but I wanted to just keep on riding because it was just so nice. Since I didn't get that feeling on my noon errand, I think it's because in the morning there was NO WIND either.

Reasonably nice commute... dropped by bike shop for tube since I used one yesterday ... then rode to restaurant for bike club Friday dining.

Managed to get out for a 26 mile ride between rain showers. It was my last day of leave, so I really wanted to get in one more weekday "daylight hours" ride. My Showers Pass jacket arrived, so I wore it just in case I got caught in the rain. Even though it was quite warm/humid for this time of year (64 degrees), the jacket really vented well. Luckily, the rain held off. Back to work on Monday and to riding in late afternoons.

I managed to dodge between rain showers also, and took a short run along Big Soos Creek on this:

It's actually not quite that colour of blue, it's much prettier than that. This is the new Peugeot mixte, acquired on 31 December. $25!

I think Big Soos Creek will be under water part of the way today due to the latest heavy rain. Perhaps I'll do GRT or Interurban instead. Maybe mountain bike around Lake Youngs? Choices, choices....

we usually don't have both high winds and rain at the same time, Well yesterday morning, we did! and made a "wrong" turn, which added a couple of miles (had 15 for the day), but managed to get to work on time. Spent yesterday night cleaning the bike for today's gust-fest.

Sadly, yes. Great for riding, bad for anyone who loves winter activities (like me!). It's currently almost 70 degrees at my house near Boston... Leaving in about 20 mins for a ride. This is CRAZY!

That is ridiculous! But I hear that NYC still has no snow yet this winter. I'm sure that the New Yorkers don't mind not dealing with snow, but it's just not natural.

I keep hearing people skidding on the road outside the house. It rained quite heavily last night, and now the roads are frozen over. No ride for me today , even though the sun is out.

I must learn how to use the multi-quote function, eh? Yes, even though it's a lowly Cadre Allege, it's not a bad bicycle. It's got almost flawless paint, and doesn't look as if it got much use. How can you go wrong for $25?

I like your new avatar, too. I still have not seen the Northern Lights, perhaps when we go up to Williams Lake this May...
