Recommendation: Polartec Power Dry Zip-T, Midweight

I was looking for an extra layer for cold-weather riding and walking. I wanted something that could be layered with comfort or that could be worn standalone in somewhat warmer weather (as in cool spring or fall temps).

I found what I needed at LLBean, a long-sleeved zip-T, made out of Malden Mills Polartec Power Dry (mid-weight) fabric. The shirt is soft, warmer than I expected given the lightness of the fabric, and has stood up to machine washing and drying with no problems. I've worn it alone and as a layer - it works nicely both ways. And at $36, I found the price to be quite reasonable.

Here's a link: Polartec Power Dry Zip-T, Midweight. (If for some reason the link doesn't work, do a search for Polartec Power Dry, then click on show all women's.)

I've only tried the mid-weight and silkweight versions of this shirt. There is an expedition-weight version too.

Thanks, Denise! I always forget LL Bean these days. I used to get quite a lot of clothes from them because they had Tall sizes.

SKnot's first cross-country skis were from LL Bean... little toddler skis. Snif! He was soooo cute!

I tend not to forget them because I have an LLBean Visa card - no annual fee, and if I charge my LLBean order on that card shipping is free. (Of course returns are not, but that's fairly typical...)

Also, after you order a certain amount of stuff, they start sending you $10 gift cards now and then. I live in Florida and send gifts to family in Alaska and Oregon, so the free shipping is worth a bundle to me.
