    there is justice!

There is justice out there let me tell you.
My husband and I were at a bar watching our friends band play. I had just gotten over being sick and this was the first time in a long time I had been out.
I got up from our little bar table we were sitting at and went to the restroom. When I came back there was this kid (maybe 22) sitting in my chair and holding and drinking my beer! My dh was facing the other way and never saw this kid do this or he would have said something. But it was MY BEER. I try and I tell him this. He points to some guy sitting next to us and says "He gave it ot me". Ahhh, Ok whatever it is still "My beer". And a expensive beer at that. He just shrugs he's shoulders and doesn't even say anything. I mean REALLY! Oh I was so mad! How rude can you be. My husband tried himself to say something but the kid ignored us.
Then it dawned on me. Now I do not advocate this and I did not do this on purpose so please don't get upset with me.
I realized I had a cold sore on my lip ( I get them when I get sick sometimes) and this kid was drinking out of my beer. I was ready to say something to him and stopped myself. I sat there and smiled to myself. My husband giggled all the way home. So there is justice even silently!

That sounds like a mastercard commercial:

    Cover charge for bar $5
    Beer $8
Giving snot nosed kid who stole your beer a cold sore: Priceless

You could have cured this kid from ever doing that ever again thusly, point to the cold sore and say

"look, kid, I have active herpes and you just drank out of my bottle. Better go see a doctor right away"

Reminds me of the person I saw walking out of Smokey Mountain National PARK, carrying a wreath of a vine she was going to make a Christmas Wreath with, I guess. Then I noticed the few "leaves of three" (leave them be) dangling from the vines.

The Smokey Mountains will get the last word. That was Poison Ivy!! We tried to tell her, but she wouldn't believe us.

For our non-US friends, you are not supposed to pick anything in our national parks.

I think you will find this rule applies to most countries not just the US. So most would know this but some I guess choose to ignore it. Aahh at least she might think twice after that surprise.

We have this great camp ground not far from us up in a place called big sur. the poisen oak there grows all over the place. The rangers won't cut it back any place but the trails. That way people will stay where they are supposed too. They hope.

I know I'd never do this, but somehow I keep envisioning flipping off a stiletto-heeled shoe, grabbing it by the toe, whacking him where it hurts most, and then going all doe-eyed and saying "Oh, were you planning on using that? It was just hanging there, and your girlfriend over there said I could do whatever I wanted to it."

How do I know I'd never to this? I never wear stiletto heels.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
