    Track Thread

Since I don't have a local indoor velodrome, my track season doesn't start until April/May. However, I do have to train in the mean time. Anyone out there a fellow fixie to share training programs, tactics, insights etc....

The nearest velodrome to me is in another state! Anyway, I do a good bit of sprint training (by power) regardless. What do you compete in - pursuit? match sprints?

On your webpage it says....'stay-at-home dad....'

Oops on the blog..it's our team captains blog until we get a real one. I'm hoping that some strength work this winter might make me a better sprinter next year. I really want to focus on pursuit and sprints.

    Ok, fair enough.

Do you have a PM per chance? After I got one, I discovered my sprinting (5s & 1min pwr) ability is very strong. I would give track racing a go, if it weren't for the fact that the nearest velodrome is over 400 miles from here

For pursuit I'd work specifically on anerobic work capacity & vo2 max, whereas for match sprints I'd be honed in on neuromuscular ability.
