Friday night I made a pumpkin pie. I just stuck an apple one in the oven. Hmmm... homemade pie.

DH and I discovered that if we ride our bikes a lot....we can eat more pie and not gain any weight! Needless to say, we are riding a LOT these days.

Yesterday, we went for a 41.5 mile ride which had plenty of hills and took us 5 hours. We got home and made a big homegrown garden salad of greens and tomatoes, and had a 1/4 of a warm apple pie each! This morning I had LOST a pound.

One pumpkin and one apple pie for dinner - yum! And a turkey in the oven. 'Course it's Thanksgiving for me this weekend.

We made a cranberry-apple pie recently. Yum. The tart cranberries add alot to apple pie.

I like to mix pie fillings - my two favorite are below

Apples with dried tart cherries thrown in like you would raisins.

Peaches mixed with tart cherries from the can (or the tree)

I'm seeing a pattern here - can anybody guess what my favorite fruit is?

Pie is good. Very good! But no time to make crust today, so I made apple crisp instead. Also very good, especially for the lovers of crumbly, crispy, buttery toppings. Apple season is upon us. Yum!
