Does Canadian Thanksgiving also involve turkey? Have a fun and happy holiday! And ride off whatever you eat!

My family will be celebrating US Thanksgiving in Canada (in BC in fact)! I can't wait, love it out there.

I used to live in Quebec and although Thanksgiving was a celebrated holiday (i.e. family dinner) there was no pie, but usually there was turkey.

In BC where I live now (hi tygab!) I think many have pumpkin pie. I have discovered candied yam and... it's delicious. There is turkey as well, and there is a Turkey Trot, a 10k (running) race I am doing tomorrow, just like in many US cities on US-Thanksgiving day.

Generally Thanksgiving is a little less of a big deal here than in the US, but I always am happy to have a family dinner, so any excuse is valid! And I am indeed grateful - giving thanks - for all the beautiful vegetables that were harvested.

    Doing turkey tomorrow. yummy!

Went to the pumpkin patch today. It was truly amazing! I think we'll be back once or twice more before Halloween to get enough pumpkins for carving.

I'd like to have pumpkin pie tomorrow night. I either have to make it myself or find one made without ginger. That's the plan tomorrow. Find a pie I can eat!

And, yes, I'm giving thanks for the wonderful place I now call home, my DH, my four legged furry kids, and that my health is still pretty good and the one issue is on it's way to being solved.

    Life is, indeed, grand!

    Happy TG to all!

    Namaste,
    ~T~

I'll be in Vancouver area. This summer was our first visit, and we're excited to be going back. I hope to finally ride in Stanley park, if they still have bike rentals then. We had our bikes out this summer and spent time from Squamish into Pemberton.

don't worry, you'll easily find a bike for rent on Denman street any day of the year!

    enjoy your trip here!
