For all you ladies drooling over the "I bike because I'm awesome" sticker (because you all ARE awesome, of course), here it is in action:

Thank you, divingbiker! It's the perfect addition to my bike-related sticker collection.

Friday was actually the worst day of the week to ride in - welp, Maybe Wednesday which had more hours with rain, but Friday had the hailstorms and 100 mph winds.

Of course, since I'm the weather goddess, it wasn't raining when *I* was going to & riding home from work. Still, the proposed "event" at the U. was canceled with the "promise" to do something more organized next year.

    Ride of Silence is Wednesday.

I have a jacket that says "Never a bad time to ride" on the butt flap. I think you just disproved my jacket's claim.

Ha ha! You might remember I mentioned my Magical Goretex Rain Gear? Well, on the Epic Adventure, I had the most phenomenal weather! During the 11 days, it rained about 2 hours. (Of course, it was 2 hours on a limestone trail...not so nice...but it could have been so much worse.) Every rainstorm managed to miss me, whether I was in a tent or on my bike. Oh, one tiny rainstorm happened during the one hour I was in someone's car and then eating dinner.

I had the Magical Goretex with me on this trip. It has kept Columbia dry during my commute for months, and it kept bits of Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and lots of Missouri dry as I passed through them.

And it did pretty well during those 2 miserable rainy hours, keeping me mostly dry, even if it failed to keep the rain off that bit of Iowa that day.
