Perhaps I'm nutty, but I just had to try out the Sheila Moon ballet skirt and the bolero in "groovy blue":

If I wear a black tank top and my black knickers or Terry long shorts, it might work.
Hmmm....now we'll just have to see if they are made for women with actual ....hips.
Besides, the TE 10% off coupon was just enough to push me over the edge.

those colors will look nice on you! For me it would be a bit much but you could get away with it on your Ramboullet. Not sure about your honey bike though

I love that pattern but I didn't like the fit of the Sheila Moon bolero I tried a couple of years ago (if they are still the same).

I agree that would coordinate nicely with your Ramboullet!

I'm still trying to decide what I want to spend my 10% on....I'm thinking Ibex knickers and maybe the cute biking skort that was pictured in the email.

Heck I was thinking of my everyday type of capris and stuff too! I often wear short skirts over black leggings as everyday wear. Plus, they'd be pretty cool for the roller rink.

    Update:

They arrived, and they are really CUTE! I always liked how they looked but was afraid to try them.
As is typical for my pear shape....the large bolero top and the XL skirt fit me just right. I actually 'could' have kept the medium top and the Large skirt instead, they did fit me pretty well too- but I figured it was better to have a bit of extra room for when I'm dancing the watusi or the pony.
I really like them over my usual black knickers and black top, so much so that I ordered another set in another color! (had to order those from Sheila Moon directly though, TE only had the one color skirt left.)

These are very grooooovy.....can't wait to wear them around.

(ok so why is it that I am a pretty average sized woman, not tall or overweight, and yet I always seem to have to get 'XL' pants and shorts and skirts???- what's up with that?? Not everyone is built like a 15 year old!)

So, I've been wearing my Sheila Moon "groovy blue" skirt and bolero for like 5 days in a row now...they're just too much fun to take off.
Here's a couple of pix I forced my DH to take this afternoon:

Those are cute. I've been coveting one of those ballet skirts, but now that I'm only wearing hi-viz jerseys, I can't bear to think how they would clash

I wouldn't mind one of those ballet skirts to wear over regular leggings. Let's see, I can hear them already when I go to class at Lesley University:
"Who is that old woman in the flowery skirt? And leggings? She wants to be a psychologist????"
Seriously, I bought a Sheila Moon bolero a couple of years ago and I eventually threw it out. It bunched in the shoulders and the sleeves were still on the verge of being too long, in the extra small. The Terry one in the s/m fits me perfectly.
Off to investigate the Sheila Moon site.
