oooh, yes! :D ;) :D
Thanks, we forgot to ask the first_and_most_important_question. :) :D
Was she riding her new Scott bike or her trusty steel uhm, what was her old bike? Oh right, a Jamis. Of course if it's steel the bike is ok.

I'm sorry to hear of your accident. Many healing vibes coming your way. Hope your elbow feels better soon. Jennifer
(((((((((((bike goddess))))))))))))) I know how painful it is ! Been there done that! I wish you a speedy recovery. At least it was your elbow and not your head!
Lisa-Very nice on changing your picture! It is from the honey thread. It made me giggle! Thanks forthe smile!
I was thinking about what she will need (she may already know this, I didn't and it took me a week to be able to gather it all and care for myself)...
box of tall trash bags, rubber bands, and waterproof tape to cover the cast in the shower (dr. advised that press and seal saran wrap, but it didn' work as well as the old trash bag for me)
shampoo, conditioner and body soap in pump bottles for one handed use. (I couldn't lift the bottle and shake it to dispense into the other hand)
Blow dryer stand/holder (I found one on ebay) made all the difference for one handed blow drying.
hope she's doing ok today....will she need surgery?
ps: didn't log on as myself cause it was mr.s laptop and I'm kinda awkward with it. It was just less steps to post. I still don't have too good of range of motion on my right hand/arm yet. On the desktop, I can tilt the mouse (it's a thumb mouse)to use it better.
OH NO! heal quickly!!!!
Dear BG;
Sending healing thoughts your way. I have heard of a siliscon skin that can fit over you cast so that you can shower, and even swim. Net search or ask a reputable ortho dealer...they will know what I mean.
strength,
karen
Silver it's just great to see you riding again and watching your stats over at Bikejournal. You're only 7 miles behind my nemesis from last year Marlin (won't even acknowledge the doggone challenge that I gracefully conceeded loss by 50.7 miles to dirty dog after my injury) run him into the ground girl :D :p
mary, i'll do my darndest! Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I'll be better able to put in miles after this splint is off. :) :) :) Hugs to you mary!!
healing thoughts coming your way. hope your feeling better.
Oh Nanci I am SO sorry!! We're thinking of you!
Best wishes for a swift recovery, Bike Goddess. Broken bones suck! :(
Emily
Cindy, please let Nancy know we're all thinking of her and sending healing vibes!
Mel
more important than what bike was she on is which arm she broke. I remember the ER docs first words to me this past August (when broke my shoulder) was: "You aren't left handed?" (no I'm not). This is assuming she's going to be stuck with a sling /immobilizer as well as a cast.
I agree with all the stuff silver mentioned, Does she live by herself? I almost couldn't get dressed a couple of days
bg heal quickly!
Peace,
Fredwina
