I always feel better after a brief nap. :) When I am tired, by paralysis is most pronounced.
dar i'm sorry. get better and d@mn all the stupid boys!
im sure i have more to say, but i'm exausted. got part of my storage organized acutally went through boxes and threw a ton of stuff away. its taking more time than i thought. kit i'm trying to have a good time, i really am.
im off to relax and take a short nap. hopefully it will help make me feel better. :)
Annie- CWR's didn't come up in the box b/c there's a parenthesis instead of a bracket in the last bit of her html.
CWR- I'm glad. Your boobs are nice the way they are. :)
Trek: ETA 7 or 8 pm? I'll be on shift then (as if it matters much) but have fun :)
Bmo3- Today's my last day. There's no real party b/c dgf has to work tomorrow morning. I was going to celebrate by going mountain biking with my (soon to be former) manager... I asked in person, he seemed excited... I switched out my tires and everything, got all packed up, emailed him with the plan and the time and request for his opinion...
no response. :(
Well **** it, I'll go anyway. Anyone want to go to Hagg lake with me for some spontaneous, cold muddy slick singletrack fun in the rain? We can go back to my house for hot coffee or tea... really!
thanks kit :p i'm glad you like them.
BM3 i can't wait to see what it is and glad your hubby is still loving the simple things.
CWR- ...well... I'm an independant judge. Totally unbiased and all that. :D
With all this talk of naps, I think I'll take one, too. TGIF. :D I'm so glad I scheduled in 2 days of 'extra' weekend to get myself accustomed to a new schedule (instead of awake at 10:30-11, work at 3, home at 11:30 or 12:30, sleep at 1 or 3ish...) it'll be closer to up at 6:30 or 7 (7 once I get a little faster biking to work) eat, dress, out the door at 7:30, get there at 8:30, wash up, eat something, ready for work at 9...
Yes can you imagine the conversation:
DH-You must come see what I have from Alaska, utterly fantastic!
Other Scientist-Sure, I have never been, but would love to study the geochemistry of Alaska!
DH-Okay, here it is (he hands over a zip lock baggie filled with black gravel)
Other Scientist-HUH?
DH-Look!!!!! Actual road from Cold Bay Alaska!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Other Scientist-mutters something about a commitment hearing....
DH-WAIT! You have not seen THE rocks!! If you promise to be careful, I will show you the sea shells.
At least he allowed me to keep the green glass.
Well, I'm sitting here with a silly big grin on my face. The first meatloaf I've ever attempted to cook is in the oven, along with some sweet potatoes and green beans.
I know, what 27 year old has never cooked meatloaf? But dumb ex-fiance refused to try it, so I never cooked it. (I have, of course, eaten meatloaf; just never cooked it.)
But I'm absolutely exhausted, so I think this Friday night will be ending quite early for me. I want to get a nice ride in tomorrow.
Kutsune, good luck at the new gig. A new adventure awaits.
RE: boob jobs. I'm afraid if I actually lose 100 pounds, I will definitely be wanting some surgery. Don't know if I will actually have it done, though.
Offthegrid- Way to go on your first meatloaf!! :D
As for weight loss, I shed to be exact, 73 pounds. (YAY!) I shed the weight very slowly, all the while building up lean muscle. Everything is back where it should be, except the ravages of a belly expanding to accomadate 2 pregnancies (one being with twins) and the effects of gravity on my breasts. Thank goodness for good bras. :) So a bikini is out of the question, otherwise I am quite happy with my body.
Edited: I am 10 years older than you  so I would imagine your body will be even more lovely than it is now and gravity will not have bothered it yet.
Quiet night, huh? Thanks for all the kind words ladies - you have lifted my spirits!
I took my son to a traveling rain forest show that came to town tonight. He had a rain foresty looking backdrop and showed off some parrots, gators, a cervil, chimp and a python. Very cool! The python was huge and took 2 adult handlers to hold it. While they were holding it, it's tail kept going up the crotch of one of the guys and feeling him up - it was quite hilarious. B and I got our picture taken with the chimp. I'll try and scan it later.
Safe travels Snap and CWR.
I have about 5 inches of very heavy snow to shovel in the morning so I'll head to bed so I wake up all refreshed. I need to take the munchkin shopping for boots tomorrow so he can play in the snow!
Have a great night everyone!
Have a cozy warm night, Dar. IL guy is just making room for better guys to come. And have fun playing in the snow with the little guy---first snow of the season; he'll love it! Don't forget the hot chocolate for both of you.
Oh, Dar, I'm jealous! Have fun in your snow, and pretend about six shovel-fulls are for me, m'kay? I haven't shoveled in 3 years and I kinda miss it. A lot. Have a good time :)
BMo3 - wow 73 lbs - I am so impressed. Even more so by your attitude and personality btw. What kind of paralysis do you have? Is it very pronounced? MIL had a stroke about 10 days ago but she's 89. Still can't imagine it at your age...
Kits - enjoy (?) your last day/night at work! When do you start the new job? Did you go MTbiking? I haven't been on my bike for two weeks :( Maybe this weekend, in between writing report cards...
mtbdarby - snow! we had a few flakes today but nothing stuck. Won't be long now though. Got my snow tires on finally this week. How old is your son?
Offthegrid- youngest daughter emailed me today for a meatloaf recipe. She says she's trying to be just like me and needs all my recipes. Sometimes kids really know how to make you feel good :)
boob jobs. Used to think I wanted/needed one (when I was 21, skinny as a rail and a double A) but once I gained weight, didn't need it anymore. Now I just don't think it's that important. I can live with the sag....
Yay it's a long weekend! I am in desperate need of 3 days off....
Kelowna- I start my new job Monday morning, bright 'n early. I'm going to drive in the first week-ish to get the lay of the land, driving my twisty, weird biking route so I know it well before trying to bike it. I'll go biking tomorrow morning-ish, probably... gotta test out the rain jacket and new neoprene gloves :)
It's always so scary leaving what you're used to... but I know this'll be good for me... just gotta keep going. :eyeroll:
At least I have coke and ouzo waiting for me when I get home tonight.
Boy that was a loooong day again. Our ER and OR are just hopping lately. Had an OR on a friend late tonight. :( I didn't know it was her until I was already in there and she was out cold. Talk about shocker. I stuck around afterwards until they woke her up so I was the first face she would see. Gave her a big hug and kiss and let her know it went really well. Tucked her in before I left tonight. Kinda bummed me out but I kept a smile plastered on my mug just the same.
Here's the rub... Since I work in my hometown hospital, I'm constantly working on people I know. I never know quite what to do or say in these situations. On one hand, I'm their tech and on the other, I'm their friend/family. I can't tell them about anything that I see, so it's hard.
I'm the sappy type though and that gets me in trouble quite often. I got caught awhile back singing to a little one in my family while she was a patient in peds. (Dreamland by Mary Chapin Carpenter. She just loves that one before bed.) I tried to tell the nurses that she's family, but I got a rash of (funny) crud for a week from them up there. (Ok, I was wearing a rubber nose at the time. :o ) Who cares, I took the ribbing. The kid felt better and that's what counts, right?
Well, anyway, now I know what I'll be doing part of tomorrow. Visiting a sick friend in the hospital. I hope I hold it together. I'm worried about her.
Ok, time to catch up here.
Ah, yer breakin' my heart, Queen.:D Hope you had a fun and safe trip. Happy Veterans Day and thank you.
Sorry, another very special person was in need of some TLC last night. I know you'd understand. Sorry you missed sleep but I see you caught a nap today. As for the hair... ya need another nap dear. And maybe glasses. Bifocals. :D
Yup, what she said. ;) :)
Careful what ya wish for, Dar. I'm a very huggy kind of person. (((((((((((((((Dar))))))))))))))))
Very cool pics, mimi. And they're wearing heels. Gotta love that. :) :)
Nah, probably just got sh*t on by the others. (you shoulda seen the other comment I started to write  )
**shaking head** Don't ever change Trek. ;) Give her all our best next time you talk.
Should I? No, I can't. But, I gotta say it...
Don't....do....it....X....no!.... pifft. Too late.
Do I hear a second on that quote? SECOND!!!
Don't look at me like that, Kit started it. **pointing my finger westward towards Oregon** :D
Oh, oh, me, me, me!! Oh, oh! Shoot, she picked CWR. **walks away kicking the dirt, head down, bottom lip quivering** :p I never get to play in the mud anymore.
I love meatloaf. And sweet potatoes. And green beans. When's dinner? Can I bring something?
BMo3 - congrats on the 73 pounds!!! I'm so proud of you.
As for the boob job - there are many drawbacks to these. Loss of nipple sensitivity, they will still sag - just further, and they can hide a breast cancer b/c we can't see through them like tissue. They have to be pushed way up into the chest muscle area to see properly. It's so much easier to miss a cancer with them. And honestly, they just don't feel right. I vote for natural boobs anyday. And what's so wrong with smaller ones anyway?
Alright, I've got some pressing things to get to before bed, so 'night TD. Sweet dreams.
X.
HAHAHAhahaha! Where's the *laughing so hard you're crying* smilie?!
X- you rock. If I'm ever stuck in the hospital, I want you to do my films. Put that blamin' finger down, young lady! and... oh, I can't say it. Not here, but you're gonna hear it from me. CWR, lend me your bears....
CWR- See? If it weren't for me, who'd be pointing out how nice your boobs are and giving you weird, bizarre nicknames? :D
You can both go riding with me tomorrow if you can make it over here in time... :D
good point. so gee thanks. :p
Anything to make you feel warm 'n fuzzy. :D
hehehe Not going there. Too late at night and I'm punchy. Never know what might come out. Speaking of which, I got the message and as you can see, all is taken care of. Thanks Kit!
See ya little sistas! Take care of yourselves. :)
X.
Congrats Kit!!!
So how does it feel to be happily unemployed for two days? (What a girl has to do to get a w/e off. Sheesh!!)
I'm outta here for a while. Got to ride today, it's just gorgeous. Going vehicle hunting too. Thought I found "the one", everything exactly what I wanted and then I see a 5-speed stick in the console. Shoot! I can drive stick, no problem, but I don't happen to want stick in a Jeep Wrangler. Too much bounce and since it will be my main car, I don't wanna be constantly shifting on my commute to work. Think I found another online so I'm heading out right after the bike ride. (priorities, ladies ;) ) I really want to be in a different car by next weekend. Got plans and the Jeep will come in very handy.
(((((xoxoxo))))) Sending a monster big hug out to some people today. I'm not real strong so I hope you can feel it way out there. ;)
Take care ladies and be safe!
X.
I woke up this morning and felt my ribs and back pop, but didn't know why. There's the explanation! Yeah, man. I'm partying in style. Home maker for a couple days. Woo Hoo!
Gotta do my time at the computer, then go for a quick spin in the mud, clean up, meet my DGF at her work and go *shopping!* With bated breath, no less, ladies- she's going for jeans. :D I *love* a woman in jeans!
today is the day i get my first massage and boy do i need it! woke up with the headache from you know where. i forgot how much stress just kills me.
x i'm not that strong either but i'll send a hug back to you. *squeeze*
kit enjoy the freedom and enjoy the mud for me. i forgot how dry it is down here.
D'oh! I've been buried in Entourage all this time! Ok, ok, I'll go play with the bike.
*yells out the back toor*Hey! Miz Cakes! Over here!
:D Don't mind us, we're one little, weird, dysfunctional family. :D
Knot! Trek! You having fun yet? How'd the drive go? How's the ride? Forgive X, she knows not what she does. :eyeroll:
* big goofy silly-a$$ grin *
MWBR
I'm happy to report my meatloaf turned out heavenly! I mean, I *know* it's only meatloaf, but to a gal who calls cooking throwing a frozen dinner in the microwave, it was good. Too good. But I ate only once piece. :D
X, you're definitely invited to dinner anytime. I'm a sucker for good rolls or bread.
My boob job wouldn't make 'em bigger but smaller! I'm kinda in a weird phase right now because my sports bras are too loose but the next size down is too tight. I get so jealous of men sometimes.
73 pounds  -- you rawk!
I'm trying not to think about having ~80 lbs to go. But I just tell myself, heck, if I can ride 30 miles with an 80 extra pounds on me, imagine what I could do when I lose the weight?
And just what makes you two think I was sending you a hug, huh? The nerve of some people. (Of course, I was tho. Among a few others. ;))
Geez, I go out for a nice little 40 on the bike, don't even get a chance to clean up and change or anything and I find out that I've done something else now?? PM's and emails galore!! :D I'm not sure what I am supposed to have done this time but I sure am sorry for whatever it was. Can you ever forgive me?? I won't be able to sleep otherwise. :( :(
Pleeeeeeeease?????
**walking away muttering to myself** Ya bunch of nut jobs... :D :D :D
ya but you love us nut jobs. how else would you be entertained. ;)
nice pic ms buff.
Hush... quiet time now.
(and quit checkin' me out... I'm prayin' here woman.)
**limps off muttering, shaking head** Some people's kids... just goes to show ya never can tell... feel violated somehow.
**raised eyebrow** Huh! Cool.
KN! Have fun! ;) :D
Just up from nap, starting a 24 hr call in 3 hr. Had a great time with J, and then went and saw "The Stinky Cheese Man", a children's play, with my 7 yr old nephew. Mom buys us tix to a series of 3 kids' plays every fall. Next year we get to start taking his sister, too.
Completely disoriented from attempting to catch up on TD....love to all! L.
x - You studette! I'm praying I look like you some day;)
Lise, have fun on your shift. The play sounds cool.
Kit - so how was the mud run today? No biking for me today. A little icey yet! Congrats on the new job and have an awesome first day Monday (I know I'm early, but my memory has been a little shoddy lately).
OTG - way to go on the meatloaf. Baby steps girl! And you rawk for your own accomplishments woman. Way to go!
I had fun in the snow for all of you ladies today. We made snow angels, had a snowball fight, tried to make a snowman (the dogs never let us, they tear it apart as you're rolling it), went sledding and showed each other our best "moves" in the snow. Oh, and my little man is 4 - he's a hoot like his mamma:p
Operation FROG update: I was ready to throw in the towel already, cuz apparently my jerk magnet is still imbedded in my forehead, but I got on match again (just call me a glutton for punishment). I was emailing this other guy this week, divorced, 7yo son, blah, blah. And I thought I'd look him up on ccap as well and gee, guess what? He has an annullment/legal separation scheduled for 11/15. WTF PEOPLE! Is it TOO much to ask for to find a SINGLE guy without freakin' issues?? Now, I realize I'm not perfect by a long stretch, but I am divorced, not on medication, reasonally well adjusted and you don't have to tie a bone around my neck to get the dog to play with me. **takes deep breath** Good thing I'm not bitter, just venting:D
OK, off to have some hot chocolate, heavily laced with peppermint schnapps, and finish playing pokemon with my little man (who keeps calling me sweetheart for some adorable reason). I'll check back with you ladies later.
Dar--all I can say is how SMART you are for looking these guys up. Please don't dispair. I was at it, off and on, for 2.5 years before I met J. I started in March of '04, met and dated T. from 9/04-4/05 (4 months longer than I should've  ), went off for a few months after we broke up, then went back on last November. In 11 months, I went out with 16 guys. Two of them were set-ups from work. Two of them don't technically count as "dates", because the guys stood me up. One was definitely stalker material, another potentially so. Two were intensely interested in me until they just dumped me without a word. You get the point. Many were odd.
And that doesn't count the number of guys with whom I emailed but never met. One seemed pretty interested in me, then didn't call when we'd made a phone date, but emailed and said, "I changed my mind." About a phone call? Whatever. I sat over coffee, flirting and talking with one guy for 5 hours, made another date, which he then cancelled by email, saying our conversation had felt more like a "work discussion". Really. I'd like to work in your company, buddy! At least you found out that this guy isn't really divorced. I got emails from a couple of guys who admitted in their profiles that they're only separated. I wrote back and said, "I don't date married men."
Anyhoo, just let it roll off your back as much as you can. Enjoy your little guy, and take a break from match when you need to. Have fun in the snow! We got some ferocious rain down here yesterday, and expected to wake up to snow, but nothin'.
OTG--I second the congrats on the meatloaf! I love meatloaf, and make a pretty good one. Meatloaf is *so* individual. Mine is good because it tastes like the kind my mom made.
Off to cook something to take with me on the call shift.
Dar, don't give up just keep going, he's out there! It's like
meet NO
meet no
meet NO
meet no
meet NO
meet no
meet Yes!!! whoops....make that a no
meet no
meet Hel) NO

Just back from Thai dinner with Knot. Plan is to do ALC training ride tomorrow across the GG bridge.
Like Trek Said.
.....................
Hugs to the both 'a youse, Trek & KN! (as we say in Chicagah). :D
X, how was the massage? Was it extra special? *evil grin* ;)
I just saw "Little Miss Sunshine." (yeah, months late, but what can ya' do?) I don't think I stopped laughing through the entire movie, and you can't say that too often about a flick that has a corpse in it.
Well, I gotta head to bed before I eat 2/3 of a meatloaf. I love riding my bike, but it sure makes me hungry. (And I ate quite well today, I might add.)
G'night ladies.
LISE - I love the stinky cheese man!! Never knew they made a play of it. How cool!
DAR - single man? Without baggage?? At our age??? You best start shaing cuz whatever you are smoking is some really powerful s**t!
Lise, you may be surprised to know that I have already been on and off Match for over 2 years - this ain't no new 'venture! It's just getting old....
Thanks Trek, but I think I have most of the "no's" down already:p Tell Knot hi and have a blast.
CC - I didn't say baggage, did I?? Issues are much different, lol. And what's this "at our age stuff"??;) Single. Lets start with that, ok? Just quit lieing to me boys and lets start with that. Now you guys know why I relate to Meridith on Grey's Anatamy (expect I don't get that much lovin' ).
OTG - back away from the meatloaf (although you could do worse - like the 3 cookies I had today. Guess my appetite is back:( ). Yes, the more I ride the hungrier I am. Not so much with running but I can't explain it.
Alright, I took a nap with my handsome prince this afternoon and now I'm not really tired. I'm off to make my bed - anyone up around here?
Dar - Ya wanna look like who? (I'm trying to ignore that crack cuz I promised to be good.)
**in my nicest voice possible** There are quite a few of you here who desperately need an appointment with the eye doc. In the mean time, you may wanna get a dog. I'm surprised you're not bumping into walls. 'nuff said.
Sorry about the date sitch. Trek is right. (FYI: she's pretty much always right, so get used to it :D ) It'll happen sometime. Enjoy your independence girl. I know it's lonely but you've got the little guy to keep you company. (I know, it's not the same but he loves ya unconditionally.) You're a very lucky woman.
Did I hear hot chocolate? Be right over. I like mine mixed with a B-52, hold the hot chocolate. I'll even bring my own fixins. Hey, Kit! Dar's house later! Bring the marshmallows, will ya?
OTG - Wrong girl for the massage. That was CWR. As I understand, it was very good tho. (If I say anymore, Kit has been employed to cut off my thumbs. I really think she'd do it, too. ;))
Although if someone's offering, I'm game! I love giving and getting them. It's surprisingly easy to end up giving an hour massage and not even notice the time passing. Just turn on some soft music and get lost in the ebb and flow of the melody, the rhythmic cadence, cresting chord progressions and arpeggios, the tension and release of the pitch, deep penetrating harmonic waves resonating off the finger tips and through the timbre of the flesh. *Ahem.* Phew, is it hot in here? **wipes the steam off the screen**
and THAT'S what ya get for the evil grin, woman! Next! (oh, I know I'm gonna get it for that one. hehe.)
Knot and Trek - Happy to see ya made it safely Knot. Glad it's going well. Thai food huh? Gotta be careful what you ask for, that can be a pretty hot dinner there. Red hot chili peppers have a kick. (great band too, BTW) Had a bottle-worth dropped in my lap one time. Rather, um, harsh. Not conducive to riding and other such things. ;)
Have a nice ride tomorrow. (like the segway?) Take pics of the bridge and bay too, would ya please? I've never been there before. I'd like to see it from your perspective. Still looking for a biking vacation spot in the spring. (yea!)
Lise - I see things are still moving along nicely with your young man. Never did get to hear how he rolls his bill tho. :p Hope everything goes smoothly in delivery and ya get some naps.
CyclChyk - How's tricks? :D I wore the tri socks on my ride today. Very comfy. Mucho gracias, sis! The piggies are feeling good tonight.
Kit and CWR - I think we've said about all we can today. Unless you've got more? j/k!! I'm always here if you need anything, little sisters. Just say the word. ((((((Kit & CWR))))))
OTG that was me with the massage and let me tell you it was good. if your ever in phoenix, let me know i'll hook you up. not only does he give a good massage but he's good looking too. oh and congrats on the meatloaf!
dar it will get better. i've had good advice that says it will. what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. right?
knot and trek enjoy that thai. i like it hot.
lise glad things are going good with J still.
kit didja remember what you were going to say yet?
hugs to all, and to all a good night.
