    new bike I'm in love

i HAVE TO LET EVERYONE KNOW HOW HAPPY i AM WITH MY NEW bike. I have been riding on a 24 " wheel mountain bike for 3 years. I commute to work at least 3 times a week, until the snow arrives(which might be a few flakes tonight, boo hiss). I made a pact with myself, that if I put over 1500 miles on my bike this year, I could by myself a new one. I decided I would get a hybrid, I am 52, and don't think I am going to be a road racer. I wanted the giant pegasus, I thought it was the most sexy looking bike when I saw it, but as it was late in year, my size wasn't available. I got a devinci liverpool, which is classed a comfort hybrid, rather than performance. But I love it, it has 700cc tires, and I can't believe what a difference it makes, and it is so light, my mtn was a pretty heavy steel, and this bike feels half the weight. I did a 25 mile ride on the weekend that I have done often on the mtn bike, and I was 20 minutes faster on my devinci, with less effort I think. If I hadn't have seen that sexy black pegasus, I would be 100 % thrilled my devinci, but it is 99%... always something to yearn for, I really hope the snow stays away, I want to ride this all the time . I bought it the week the worlds were in Hamilton. I went to visit my sister in Waterloo(about 1/2 hr from Hamilton). We weren't able to see much, but watched some training and the time trials on Tuesday, then I had to go to work ) Maybe in another year or 2 I will want to go faster, and think a road bike would be next, who Knows. new bike

Congrats on the new bike. I've seen those Devinci and they are pretty.
I rode a cannondale hybrid for 3 years and put lots of miles on it, but I outgrew it ability wise, and this year I got a new LeMond road bike (but it has flat bars). Its reallyl a big difference when you get a lighter bike. I also learned to clip in which was real hard but wow! you wouldn't believe the difference.

You will want a road bike in a while, but hey, a gal needs a few bikes.!

    I can feel the love......

Congrats on the new bike, I'm sure you will have lots of fun journeys on it. I hope you tell us about some of them.
