If the nose length of regular saddles seem far too long to you, if the nose of most saddles catches on your skirts, or if the nose of your current saddle gets in your way as you ride, then I'd go for the Short version.
Nose length has very little to do with a person being tall or short. It has much more to do with riding style.
For example: I use my legs and body weight to control the bike when I ride. I use a lot of "body English." I tried a friend's Short and thought I was going to crash and die because I had nothing to control the bike with. (BTW, where is Quilfred these days?)
Think about the long nose on racing saddles - that nose has a purpose. But for someone who doesn't use it, that nose would either be inconsequential or in the way.
As far as skirts are concerned: I ride in skirts all the time, and all my saddles are regular length Brooks B67 or B68. No problem.
