I think the decision will be made in September? I hope we get it. RVA is a pretty darned cool place, unknown to most. We have Xterra games (for now) some awesome running races, and some of the best urban kayaking on the east coast. Huge cycling community, good climate, and great location. I'm looking forward to the start of baseball season, as our Flying Squirrels are so much fun.

UCI would really be great to have.

Yep, September. We have a pretty good chance. The other bidders are Oman (where the avg. temp is 110) and Canada...city not announced. Ontario just had them in 2003.

I was in Richmond for the NAHMBS last year and it was a great city! One of our friends had ridden in the US Open there so he took us out on the route. Of course we had to ride up Libby Hill more than once.

I wonder how far in advance hotels start taking reservations?

I have to ride up Libby Hill every time I want to ride to the coffee shop . I understand that soon there will be a coffee shop in my neighborhood, so I'll have to think up a different reason to ride up there. I actually live on a different hill, and so at the end of every ride I slug back up it. Lots of short, steep hills in RVA.

Hmmm...maybe I'll rent out my house...
