    Interesting elbow update

Well, I went to talk to the trainer at school today about my swimming induced elbow pain. I usually avoid asking for his opinion because there is a significant amount of groveling and ego stroking to go through before you get an answer. But, all the swim coaches assured me that he is the resident expert on swimming injuries, being a swimmer himself.

He said it sounds like the triceps tendon at its insertion in the elbow joint and not tennis elbow. Interesting. He thinks this because the initial discomfort was further up my arm between my elbow and shoulder.

He said, ice, ibuprofen and change my stroke to one with less of a follow through. Pull out earlier.

Interesting. My PT said suck it up and go get a cortisone shot. Trainer guy said...nah....suck it up and ice it....

    Hmmm.

I will try the change of stroke this weekend when I try to swim again....

oh now I have to go, I was instructed to google him and be amazed at his swim times at last year's events....

    sheesh.....
